DELTA NOVE TAPING POLICY
Delta Nove wishes to treat our fans with the honor and respect that you deserve as aficionados of fine, funky music. Please be similarly respectful to the wishes of the venue, sound crew, and the band and plan to arrive early with everything you will need.
All recordings are authorized for non-commercial and personal use only, which may include trading via physical media or digital file transfer including bit torrent, FTP, and other related methods. At no time shall any profit be derived from any live recordings of Delta Nove without explicit permission from the Band Manager. All rights reserved. No waiver of copyright or trademark right is intended or implied.
As an improvisational band, we understand that each show is unique, and that the documentation and sharing of recordings of the live experience is an integral part of appreciating what we do. Audio recordings of our performances are hosted here by the Live Music Archive for free download.
If Delta Nove is opening for another artist, or performing at a festival type event with multiple bands, that artist’s/festival’s policy may override our customary policy. If we are aware ahead of time that recording will not be permitted at a particular event, best efforts will be made to publicize that information on our website and myspace pages.
Audio Recording: Audio recording is permitted at all shows possible; however, at no time should recording interfere with the reasonable enjoyment of other concert attendees or the policies of the venue. Microphone placement on stage and soundboard access will be allowed at the discretion of the venue’s sound engineer. If attempting an on stage or soundboard recording, Delta Nove prefer that it be a part of a matrix recording and that it not be at the expense of an audience recording with microphones. Unless it is an outdoor show, or a sub-mix made for recording, the soundboard feed will often be a reinforcement mix for what is not sufficiently loud enough on stage and it will not sound like the show. Similarly, the sound on stage often lacks some things (like vocals) and/or over-emphasizes what was the loudest instrument on stage that night. Please use your best judgment and recording experience to pick the best recording strategy for that particular performance.
Still Photography: Still photography without flash is encouraged at all Delta Nove shows. Professional SLR/digital cameras are permitted. This rule is subject to change at any time.
Video Recording: Video recording will also be allowed on a night by night basis so long as advance contact is made for clearance ahead of time. Due to generally more restrictive policies at many venues respecting video recording, among other reasons, Delta Nove requests that our fans who shoot video pre-arrange any video recording before the day of the show. We may also request the opportunity to watch the results of your shoot prior to approving any electronic distribution of the video recording. Please contact either the Show Archivist or Band Manager by email for video permission requests. This rule is subject to change at any time.
In exchange for our sharing of the music and the vibes, all persons who capture any part of a performance, by visual or audio means, shall send us a copy in a timely manner through the Show Archivist.
Audio recordings being uploaded to the Live Music Archive shall be considered the same as sending us a copy.
Thank you and enjoy the shows!
